My Lord,
GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONG KONG
26th August, 1929.
I have the honour to inform Your Lordship
that in connection with the preparation of the report of
the River Steamers Commission, 1928, published as
Sessional Paper No. 5 of 1929, a good deal of additional
work was done out of office hours by the officers
responsible for the stenography and secretarial work, viz.
Miss Hardinge and Mr. C. J. Roe the Stenographer and
Office Assistant respectively of the Harbour Master's
Department.
2.
To recompense these officers for the overtime
thus worked I propose to award them honoraria, and I
consider that the amounts of $50 to the Stenographer and
$100 to the Secretary would be appropriate.
The Stenographer's salary is at present $3,000
per annum and the Secretary's £490 per annum.
3.
I should be glad if Your Lordship would approve
the making of payments accordingly.
I have the honour to be,
My Lord,
Your Lordship's most qbedient, humble servant,
